Using my stash

I am a self confessed beauty addict.  There is no denying it.

I have enough make up and skin care to last 10 years.  My sister does pretty well out of it though!

So in an effort to clear some space I am setting myself a challenge for a one in one out rule.  (swaps and gifts not included, I'm being thrifty not silly!)
Essentials such as Deodorant,  toothpaste and ladies items not included.

I will only be buying something once I've used something up.

Oh god what am I letting myself in for!

Charity shop find!

So despite being beauty obsessed I haven't done any  posts on the subject yet.

Until now.

I've always loved blog posts on how people store stuff and have wanted some Muji bits for ages.
I was in town yesterday and after seeing a few posts on  Emma's blog
http://emsmixedbag.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1
(am on phone so can't shorten link sorry)

I decided to pop into the BHF shop and have a look.

£2.99 people, £2.99.
Bargain of the month.

Being a lipbalm/gloss/stain obsessive I soon filled it up.  (you haven't seen my lipbalm's yet!)
Am so pleased with it and think now they are on show I will get more use out of them.

Anniversary.

The 11th was the three year anniversary of my surgery.

Surgery I had two days after T was born.

Surgery that meant I didn't see my newborn for 3 days.

Surgery that gave me a 50% chance of dying on the table and 100% chance of dying if I didn't have it.

Surgery that has left me with a 5 inch vertical scar on my stomach and a belly button that will never look the same again.

Surgery that left me with IBS, PND and PTSD.

As the years pass hopefully I won't even remember this day.  For now however I get through it by playing with my daughter and loving her.

And then she was three.

3.

3 years old.

How did that happen?

It's true what they say.  Time really does fly by.

I'm not sure I like it.

Joining the Bloglovin Train!

With the news that Google is getting rid of Reader and trying to push everyone over to Google+ I have joined the Bloglovin train! (I am resisting Google+ because I don't like being made to do something, stubborn mare that I am...)

If you would be so kind as to pop over and add me to your blog list when you get a moment I would be most grateful!

Bad blogger.

Ok so I lost my blogger mojo. A combination of work, M starting a new job etc etc. I won't bore.

However courtesy of my BIL I should hopefully have a nice new (to me!) tablet soon so will be back on form!

That's the plan anyway......

Railway Children - Away at Christmas

Did you know....
It's estimated that a child runs away from home or care every five minutes in the UK
In a recent survey, one in 11 teenagers aged 14 to 16 admitted to having run away overnight at some stage in their life
It's impossible to know the true scale of the problem: two-thirds of runaways aren't reported as missing to the police, and many are too vulnerable or scared to seek official help
It’s estimated 2000 children will run away over Christmas

We know this is every parent’s big nightmare and that it can happen to anyone – it’s nothing to do with family economics or where people live.

So as a member of the Mumsnet Blogger Network I received an email this morning asking to highlight this issue.
For each blog post from a MN blogger Aviva will donate £2 to Railway Children. If I have comments they will donate another £2 for each comment. I know I am extremely small fry in the blogging world but every little helps.
I think every child/teenagers utters the immortal words "I'm going to run away" at some point in their childhood. I know I did, I even went as far as climbing out the kitchen window only to come back in the front door again when I had second thoughts.
As a parent now I cannot imagine the utter fear of finding your child gone in the morning.
As a child I was lucky enough to never feel the need to run away.
Railway Children help and support children under the age of 16 who have run away from home or are at risk of doing so.
